Duchesne River (doo-SHAIN), c.100 mi/161 km long, in NE Utah; rises in foothills of Uinta Mts., NW Duchesne co., 30 mi/48 km NW of Duchesne at junction of North and West Forks; flows generally E, past Duchesne and Myton, to Green R. 22 mi/35 km SE of Roosevelt. Strawberry R. joins Duchesne R. near Duchesne. Small irrigation dam and dike are 10 mi/16 km E of Duchesne on Strawberry R. River skirts through edge of fragmented Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation.
