Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park
Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park (chi-kuh-MAW-guh, cha-tuh-NOO-guh) (12 sq mi/31 sq km), Ga. (9.8 sq mi/25.4 sq km) and Tenn. (2.9 sq mi/7.5 sq km), SW and SE of Chattanooga (Tenn.). Commemorates some of the bloodiest Civil War battles, including one in which Confederate army under Gen. Bragg defeated Union forces under Gen. Rosencrans. Authorized 1890.
