Blackfoot, city (1990 pop. 9,646), Bingham co., SE Idaho, on Blackfoot R. at its confluence with the Snake R., 22 mi/35 km N of Pocatello; 43°11'N 112°20'W. Elev. 4,508 ft/1,374 m. RR junction in irrigated agr. area (sugar beets, potatoes, grain); mfg. (foods, fertilizers, apparel, farm equip., concrete). Eastern Idaho Fair takes place here annually; World Potato Exposition. Fort Hill Indian Reservation to E and S. Originally called Grove City. Founded 1878, inc. 1907.
