| Childersburg (CHIL-duhrz-buhrg), town (1990 pop. 4,579), Talladega co., E central Ala., on Coosa R., and 18 mi/29 km SW of Talladega. It developed with building of huge powder plant at nearby Coosa Pines. Plant was sold to private interests after World War II. Large rayon and newsprint mills have been built. |
