Cochran, county (775 sq mi/2,007 sq km; 1990 pop. 4,377), NW Texas; Morton; 33°36'N 102°49'W. On Llano Estacado, and bounded W by N.Mex. border; elev. 3,500 ft/1,067 m–3,800 ft/1,158 m. Cattle ranching, agr. (cotton, grain sorghum, wheat). Oil and gas wells. Formed 1876.
