| Cochinos Bay (ko-CHEE-noz), Eng. Bay of Pigs, Caribbean inlet (15 mi/24 km long N-S, up to 5 mi/8 km wide), Matanzas prov., S Cuba, cutting off Zapata Peninsula (W), 45 mi/72 km W of Cienfuegos; 22°05'N 81°10'W. Site of ill-fated anti-Castro invasion (1961). Land surrounding bay may be future nature preserve. |
