Bolivar (BAH-liv-uhr), county (905 sq mi/2,344 sq km; 1990 pop. 41,875), W Miss., bounded W by the Mississippi R. (Ark. state line); Rosedale and Cleveland; 33°47'N 90°52'W. Drained by Sunflower R. In rich agr. region (soybeans, corn, wheat, sorghum, rice, alfalfa; cattle; timber). Great River Road State Park in W; L. Bolivar State Lake at center; lakes Beulah and Whittington, oxbow lakes of Mississippi R., in W, form part of state line. Formed 1836.
