In rich agr. region (soybeans, corn, wheat, sorghum, rice, alfalfa; cattle; timber). Great River Road State Park in W; L. Bolivar State Lake at center; lakes Beulah and Whittington, oxbow lakes of Mississippi R., in W, form part of state line. Formed 1836.
