Coast Fork
 
 
Coast Fork, river, c.55 mi/89 km long, W Oregon; rises in N Douglas co., on W slope of Cascade Range; flows N, through Cottage Grove Reservoir, past Cottage Grove and Creswell, joining Middle Fork 4 mi/6.4 km SE of Eugene to form Willamette R. Cottage Grove Dam, 6 mi/9.7 km S of Cottage Grove, consists of rolled-earth embankment (1,750 ft/533 m long, 95 ft/29 m high) and concrete sect. (360 ft/110 m long, 100 ft/30 m high); total length 2,110 ft/643 m. Completed 1942 as unit in flood-control and navigation project in Willamette R. basin. Forms small reservoir. On a tributary (Row R.) is Dorena Dam (145 ft/44 m high, 3,388 ft/1,033 m long), begun in 1947.
