ATTRIBUTION:Emmeline Pankhurst (1858–1928), British suffragist and politician. My Own Story, book 3, ch. 4 (1914).

Pankhurst used militant techniques in her agitation for woman suffrage, including hunger strikes and deliberate provocation of arrest and imprisonment.
