Montauk Point
 
 
(mn´tôk´´) (KEY) , eastern extremity of the south peninsula of Long Island, SE N.Y. Approximately 115 mi (190 km) E of Manhattan, it is the easternmost point of the state. It has been the site of a lighthouse since 1795. The area is included in Montauk Point State Park.
