(dämbl´) (KEY)  or Dambulla (dämb) (KEY) , village, central Sri Lanka. It has notable cave temples of the 1st cent. B.C. and is a place of Buddhist pilgrimage. There is a recumbent Buddha figure 47 ft (14 m) long.
