VERB:1. To make or become suitable to a particular situation or use: acclimate, acclimatize, accommodate, adapt, adjust, conform, fashion, fit1, reconcile, square, tailor. See CHANGE. 2. To be in keeping with: become, befit, conform, correspond, fit1, go with, match. See AGREE. 3. To look good on or with: become, enhance, flatter. Idioms: put in the best light.
