Lacking the qualities requisite for spiritedness and originality: innocuous, insipid, jejune, namby-pamby, vapid, washy, waterish, watery. Informal : wishy-washy. See EXCITE, GOOD. 3. Without definite or distinctive characteristics: colorless, indistinctive, neutral. See STRONG. 4. Effortlessly gracious and tactful in social manner: smooth, suave, urbane. See STYLE.
