1. A poisonous Eurasian perennial herb (Atropa belladonna) having usually solitary, nodding, purplish-brown, bell-shaped flowers and glossy black berries. Also called deadly nightshade. 2. An alkaloidal extract or tincture derived from this plant and used in medicine.
