June 4

St. Breaca, Now Breague, Virgin, of Ireland

SHE was a disciple of St. Patrick, and coming from Ireland into Cornwall, landed at Reyver on the eastern bank of the river Hayle, now called Alan, in the hundredth of Penrith, and led there a solitary life in great sanctity. She was honoured there with a church famous for pilgrimages and miracles. See Borlase, Antiq. of Cornwall, and Leland.  1
